Going Once is auction software and a bidding marketplace for Canadian auction houses.
One system, from the receiving door to the seller's cheque.
Cataloguing, bidding, invoicing, tax, shipping, and settlement. There is one fee, and it is billed in Canadian dollars.
Most houses run two systems that do not talk to each other. The back office software holds the inventory and the marketplace holds the bidders. Every item crosses between them by hand, and every sale day ends with somebody reconciling two lists.
Going Once is one system. An item is entered at the receiving door, sells on the marketplace, and settles against the ledger it arrived on.

The system
Four stages, one ledger. An item is entered once and carries its own history from there.
Read it in fullWhat happens to an item, in four stages.
- 01 Receiving Scan the barcode, photograph it, correct the description, print the sticker. One pass, at the door.
- 02 The catalogue The item keeps a permanent code. The lot number is a label that moves, so resequencing reprints nothing.
- 03 The sale Timed bidding, proxy bids and a soft close, with the delivered cost to a bidder's postal code beside the bid.
- 04 Settlement Tax by province, invoices built before they go out, and seller payouts off the same ledger.
What it costs
One charge, on lots that sell to an online bidder. It falls as the sale grows.
1.75% On the first $100,000 The full rate cardA weekly sale, on their bill and on ours.
A Canadian house running weekly timed sales at $12,000 hammer, 300 lots, three staff logins.
HiBid rates are transcribed from their published pricing page as at August 2026. Four charges make up their figure, three of them fixed in US dollars, and $359 of it is currency conversion. Every line is itemized on the pricing page.
Where this is up to
We are looking for a few more houses to build this with.
Going Once is being built with auction houses in southern Ontario, starting with liquidation and consignment sellers running timed online sales.
If you run sales in Canada, what helps most is a morning in your warehouse and an honest list of what slows you down. Bring a month of statements and we will work through your figures.
